Week 11

During my eleventh week of the internship, I covered the controversial Jared Taylor speaking event on Salisbury University’s campus and spoke with students and protestors about their reactions to the event. This was one of the most difficult weeks of my internship because the topic involved strong emotions, differing opinions, and a tense atmosphere on campus. While conducting interviews, I had to remain professional, respectful, and neutral while still allowing people to express their perspectives openly. This experience challenged me emotionally and professionally, but it strengthened my ability to handle sensitive topics, communicate under pressure, and report on controversial issues in a balanced way for The Five Minute Fly By.
